Bob Martin is a Member in the Charleston office of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC. He graduated from Greenbrier Military School in Lewisburg, West Virginia, in May 1972. He attended West Virginia University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in December 1974, a Masters of Public Administration in May 1976, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the West Virginia University College of Law in May 1979. In his thirty-plus years of practicing law, Bob has focused exclusively on litigation, both civil and criminal. He has tried over 300 cases to verdict, and has tried a case to verdict in each of the 55 counties in the State of West Virginia, 21 states other than West Virginia and in one foreign country.
Bob is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia and the Eastern District of Kentucky, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth and Sixth Circuits and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is licensed in the State of West Virginia and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is very active in his community and State. He serves as one of the coordinators of the West Virginia University Classic Fashion Show. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Kanawha Players and serves as Secretary of the corporate entity that has brought 88 years of live theatre to West Virginia. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes and is an active volunteer. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and is very active in all Symphony activities and events, serving the Symphony in many ways from being an usher up to and including performing as a principal in "West Side Story" before a full house.
Bob is a frequent lecturer in topics involving litigation. He speaks regularly to civic groups and professional organizations, such as engineers, physicians and police officers, as well as for continuing legal education.
