Charles R. “Chuck” Bailey is the Managing Member of the Charleston office of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC. He was admitted to the West Virginia State Bar in 1982 and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts in the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He obtained his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law and his bachelor's degree in journalism from West Virginia University.

Mr. Bailey's civil litigation practice areas include Labor &Employment Law, Construction Law and Contracts, Consumer Protection Claims, Insurance Coverage, Governmental Liability, Medical Malpractice, Products Liability, Aviation, Employment Benefits, Professional Liability, Creditor Debtor Rights, Predator Lending Claims, Mortgage Servicing Claims, Banking, Bankruptcy, Food Service, and Management and Hospitality. He is a Member of the West Virginia Defense Trial Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. Not only a member, but Mr. Bailey is also the Editor-in-Chief of The Defender, a publication by the WVDTC. He is also a member oft he American Bar Association committees on Litigation and Employment Law. In April of 2022 Mr. Bailey was inducted as a Fellow to the West Virginia Bar Association and 2025 inductee WV Executive Magazine, Lawyers & Leaders.

Mr. Bailey frequently lectures on topics pertaining to litigation tactics, professional liability, insurance coverage, labor and employment law, civil rights and governmental liability. He was named Lawyer of the Year by the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.
